Fashion Design & Illustration
Garments designed, patterned and made by hand, and shown on the runway — the work of my first Australian qualification, a two-year Associate Diploma of Arts (Fashion) at Townsville College of TAFE, completed in 1992 and 1993.
The work was shown at TAFE Fashion Unmasked on 6 November 1992, held at Tropic Forest Garden Estate in Townsville, and at at Fashionata 1993, the graduating parade of the Townsville College of TAFE fashion design students, held at the Sheraton Breakwater Casino-Hotel on 24 November 1993 with Prue Acton as guest compère.
This is where the making began — cutting, constructing and fitting by hand, thirty years before the same instinct turned to clay.
